Russia's passenger electric vehicle fleet grew by 34% over the year and reached 80 thousand cars, according to Sergey Tselikov, director of the Avtostat agency. The share of electric cars still amounts to only 0.17% of the total number of passenger cars registered in the country (47.5 million).
The largest number of electric vehicles is registered in Moscow (23 thousand) and the Moscow Region (6.3 thousand). In St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, there are 5.3 thousand of them. Among the regions, Krasnodar Krai (5,065), Irkutsk Region (3,059), and Primorye (2,901) are leading.
As for brands, Nissan remains in the lead (18.9 thousand) — its long-standing leadership was ensured by supplies of right-hand-drive Nissan Leaf cars to the Far East. In second place is China's Zeekr (14.7 thousand); the top 5 also includes Tesla (8.6 thousand), Russia's Evolute (5.2 thousand), and Volkswagen (4.3 thousand).
Russia's Moskvich, with its only model, the \"Moskvich 3e\", still falls short of the top five (3.6 thousand units), as it has never become popular with private buyers. Electric \"Moskvich\" cars are supplied only to Moscow corporate fleets.
It is noted that 23% of Russia's electric vehicle fleet has right-hand drive.
