Industrial exoskeletons have begun to be used at the Moscow-Sortirovochnaya service locomotive depot, which belongs to the Moscow branch of OOO "LokoTekh-Servis". This is the first case of such devices being used in the company.
The personal protective equipment has been supplied for workers at the repair section for EP2K electric locomotive axlebox rods. Exoskeletons in four configurations — "Ekzo-Bust", "Ekzo-Korset", "Ekzo-Tors" and "Ekzo-Poyas" — make it possible to significantly reduce strain on the musculoskeletal system when dismantling heavy rods from the locomotive.
The measure was implemented as part of a project to organize in-house repair of EP2K axlebox rods at the depot. Previously, the repairs were carried out by the Unecha depot in Bryansk Region, which required transportation costs and increased locomotive downtime. In 2025, 248 rods were replaced on 62 wheelsets at Moscow-Sortirovochnaya.
The Moscow-Sortirovochnaya depot is the leader of the Moscow branch of "LokoTekh-Servis". It services and repairs locomotives of the EP2K, ChS7, TEM18DM, ChME3, and M62 series.
