The production of the «Moskvich 3e» electric vehicle (model index JB1-BCE1) has entered a new stage of import substitution. The Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology has issued an additional Type Approval for the vehicle, allowing the electric crossover to be equipped with Russian-made batteries from «Rener». Previously, the model was equipped exclusively with Chinese power elements from the JAC brand.
The compact electric crossover has been produced at the Moscow «Moskvich» plant since November 2022. Technically, the car is a licensed adaptation of the Chinese model JAC JS4 (Sehol X4), but since the fall of 2024, the manufacturer has been actively localizing key components. The power plant includes a synchronous electric motor with permanent magnets: the nominal power is 68 kW (92 hp), the peak power is 142 kW (193 hp). The declared range according to the WLTP cycle reaches 410 km when using a standard battery with a capacity of 62 kWh.
The transition to «Rener» batteries is seen as a strategic step in the context of expanding cooperation with domestic suppliers. The Russian battery manufacturer, which is part of the «Rosatom» ecosystem, specializes in the development of lithium-ion elements for the transport sector. The new batteries have passed a full cycle of certification tests, including tests for safety, cyclic life and operation at low temperatures — a critical parameter for operation in the Russian climate.
