The Yandex team unveiled a large-scale update to the Kinopoisk online cinema. The service introduced new tools for user interaction, expanded privacy settings, and updated profiles.
Movie and series cards now include information about which friends gave the content a high rating and added it to their "Watchlist." This makes it easier to navigate recommendations and choose interesting releases more quickly.
A "Compare tastes" feature has been launched in personal profiles. With its help, users can check movie compatibility both with friends and with other platform members they are not yet following.
Kinopoisk also expanded the showcases of streaming services. Sections for NTV, My, and Smotrim with content from the Russia 1 TV channel have appeared on the platform. Users can switch between them directly from the homepage.
In the "Sport" section, a "My favorite sport" selection has been launched with broadcast schedules and match archives. The "Insights" mode received updated statistics for KHL teams with player numbers and line combinations displayed. The feature already works on the website and on smart TVs, and will appear later in mobile applications.
