The Federal State Budgetary Institution \"Research Center \u201cInstitute named after N.E. Zhukovsky\u201d\" has completed the development of a strategic document \u2014 \"Forecast for the Development of Science and Technology in Civil Aircraft Manufacturing in Russia through 2050\". The document was prepared on the basis of a systemic analysis of global and national trends, as well as the results of research carried out within the framework of the state assignment.
The relevance of the new forecast is driven by the fundamental changes that have taken place over the past 10\u201315 years: large-scale applied developments in Russia and abroad, clarification of the application areas of new technologies, tightening of ICAO requirements and, in particular, the consequences of sanctions pressure from the leading aircraft-manufacturing powers.
The forecast is intended to become the basis for shaping a long-term strategy and action plans for the development of civil aviation and aircraft manufacturing in the Russian Federation. It identifies key challenges and priority tasks for the short term (through 2030), medium term (through 2040), and long term (through 2050). Special attention is paid to creating a comprehensive scientific and technological groundwork that will ensure the development of aviation equipment of the next technological paradigm.
The document takes into account both global patterns in the industry's development and the specifics of the Russian aviation industry, including internal barriers and national interests. It also highlights cross-cutting technologies applicable not only to various classes of aviation equipment, but also beyond aircraft manufacturing.
The forecast formulates the areas of fundamental and exploratory research needed to ensure technological sovereignty, improve the quality of the country's transport services, and achieve global leadership in the long term.
