The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec) will present the fully import-substituted Superjet abroad for the first time. The airliner will participate in the Wings India 2026 exhibition in Hyderabad from January 28 to 31.
Rostec clarified that the SJ-100 will be shown at a static display in a special livery, made with elements of the colors of the Indian national flag.
As part of the import substitution program, the Superjet has already been equipped with an interior of completely domestic production, replacing all imported components of the aircraft's interior. The new serial cabin will be presented to the general public for the first time.
The state corporation emphasized that India is one of the strategic partners for Russia, and the country strives to develop close technological cooperation within the framework of the Make in India ideology.
Our combat aircraft are traditionally in demand, but there is also great potential in the field of civil aviation. The country has a program to make air travel more accessible and increase the number of regional airports. This creates prerequisites for the commercial success of the SJ-100 in the local market.
The exhibition will also feature the short-haul Il-114-300.
As a reminder, at the end of October, UAC signed a memorandum on the production of civil aircraft with the Indian corporation Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, it was specifically about the SJ-100. India may begin production of the aircraft with a high degree of localization.
Aviation expert Roman Gusarov explained to "Pervyi Tekhnicheskiy" that India will take at least five years to master the SJ-100 with the PD-8. This requires creating entire production facilities and training qualified personnel.
