Russian airlines were left without compensation for damage caused by the closure of airports under the «Carpet» regime. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Transport of Russia, Andrey Nikitin.
The head of the department did not specify the exact figures for the damage to airlines, referring to the fact that different estimates are being voiced. Andrey Nikitin also stressed that airlines receive state support "from the point of view of other priorities".
Please note that «Carpets» have become easier to move than before. I suggested to my colleagues to treat the closure of airports as an unpleasant routine and see how we can alleviate the situation for passengers.
He also stressed that aviation has learned to interact with railways, and new trains are being added. Conditions for passengers at airports have been improved — there are playgrounds for games and drinking fountains.
It is worth noting that in 2025, airports in Russia were closed more than 170 times. The losses of airlines were estimated at 5 billion rubles.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that airlines are ready to buy Russian aircraft instead of Boeing and Airbus.
