A major aluminum can manufacturer from Novocherkassk was taken from the American corporation CanPack Group and transferred to the temporary management of the company "Stalelement." This concerns the manufacturer LLC "Can-pack Packaging Plant" and the trading house LLC "Can-pack."
The decision to transfer to temporary management was approved by Russian President Vladimir Putin by decree of December 2025.
The construction of the Novocherkassk plant was completed at the end of 2012. The site's capacity was designed to produce 950 million cans per year.
The business of "Can-pack Packaging Plant" developed dynamically. From 2020 to 2024, its revenue more than doubled to 30.8 billion rubles, and its net profit more than tripled to 5.3 billion rubles.
Vedomosti, citing a source, clarified that the reason for the seizure of the company from its previous owners was unfair policies towards consumers and speculation.
