A major aluminum can manufacturer from Novocherkassk was taken from the American corporation CanPack Group and transferred to the temporary management of the company "Stalelement." This concerns the manufacturer OOO "Ken-pak zavod upakovki" and the trading house OOO "Ken-pak".
The decision to transfer the assets to temporary management was approved by Russian President Vladimir Putin by a decree dated December 2025.
Construction of the Novocherkassk plant was completed at the end of 2012. The site was designed to produce 950 million cans per year.
The business of "Ken-pak zavod upakovki" developed dynamically. From 2020 to 2024, its revenue more than doubled, to 30.8 billion rubles, while net profit more than tripled, to 5.3 billion rubles.
Vedomosti, citing a source, clarified that the reason for seizing the company from its previous owners was bad-faith policy toward consumers and speculation.
