Tu-214, Il-114-300, MC-21 and Sukhoi Superjet 100 will update the Russian aircraft fleet in 2026

In 2026–2027, airlines will receive more than 50 new domestic aircraft

In 2026–2027, Russian airlines will receive more than 50 new domestic aircraft, Izvestia newspaper reports.

The main deliveries will be as follows:

  • Tu-214 (modernized version with replacement of 17 systems, including weather radars and collision avoidance systems) — 8 aircraft are planned for production in 2026, and 12 in 2027. Production is underway at the Kazan Aviation Plant, with a potential of up to 20 aircraft per year. The plan for the production of Tu-214 aircraft will be increased to 20 units by 2028.
  • Il-114-300 (regional turboprop aircraft, replacing the outdated Yak-40 and An-24) — the first three aircraft will be delivered to customers in 2026. Certification is expected in Q1 2026. Production is underway at the Lukhovitsky Aviation Plant. Il-114-300 has already spent 1000 hours in the sky and is 99% ready.
  • Sukhoi Superjet 100 with domestic PD-8 engines — 24 aircraft are in production in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, with a total of 42 contracted. Certification of PD-8 engines is planned for Q1 2026. Replacing SaM146 engines in the SSJ-100 with Russian PD-8 engines will require refinement and money.
  • MC-21 — 20 aircraft are in varying degrees of readiness at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant, the first 18 will be delivered after the completion of certification tests. The floor panels of the MC-21 aircraft have already been tested for strength at TsAGI.

In addition, the fleet restoration program continues: nine Tu-204/214, one An-148 and two Il-96-400T; the remaining two Tu-204 are planned to be commissioned in 2026–2027.

Experts note that the arrival of new equipment is especially important for replacing old aircraft aged 40–50 years, as well as for developing regional routes in the Far East and the North. The introduction of Il-114-300 and SSJ-100 with domestic systems will provide improved fuel efficiency and modern avionics.

Thus, 2026 will be a landmark year for Russian civil aviation, starting the transition to fully domestic equipment.
