Iskander Ballistic Missile Becomes Invulnerable to Patriot After Upgrade

The missile's guidance system has been changed, now it dives vertically downwards

After modernization, the missiles of the Iskander-M operational-tactical complex have become practically invulnerable even to the Patriot anti-aircraft system. This was stated by military expert Yuri Knutov.

According to him, if earlier the missile flew along a ballistic trajectory and maneuvered, now, during the approach, it began to move vertically downwards.

That is, now, when Patriot could have worked, the missile has become even less vulnerable by reducing the flight time. It is one thing to fly at an angle, another thing to fly vertically downwards. And it also maneuvers at this moment. That is, trying to intercept it is simply useless.
Yuri Knutov, military expert

Knutov stated that the Iskander complex has become more effective and more invulnerable.

It became known earlier that now Iskander missiles are capable of flying to a range of up to 800 km instead of 500 km declared in the technical data sheet. These characteristics bring the OTRK closer to the Kinzhal air-based complex.
