The issue of additional charges for the recycling fee for cars imported by individuals from Kazakhstan and Armenia has once again become relevant. The Prosecutor General's Office of Russia has begun investigating the actions of the Federal Customs Service (FCS) after identifying violations. The agency issued a submission to the head of the FCS demanding the elimination of shortcomings and improved control by customs authorities.
Security officials believe that the FCS does not ensure proper control over the calculations submitted by citizens, which leads to additional charges and additional financial costs in the form of penalties. The comments also concern the untimely assessment of the actions of citizens who imported cars for commercial purposes under the guise of personal use. The Prosecutor General's Office has launched a "systematic analysis of the legality of collecting the recycling fee" by the FCS.
It is worth noting that motorists are faced with additional recycling fees ranging from 750 thousand to 3.5 million rubles. The reason is that customs authorities have begun to take into account differences in customs payments between the EAEU countries and Russia.
