Melodiya Plant Resumes Vinyl Production — Demand Outplayed Digital

The company is starting vinyl production at new facilities in Novosibirsk, investing 150 million rubles

At a new full-cycle facility in Novosibirsk, the Melodiya company has started producing vinyl records again. This decision was made due to the increasing interest of the audience in vinyl. This was reported by the press service of "Firma Melodiya."

The revival of production under the „Melodiya" brand is a natural development of musical traditions in our country, which will allow the plant to become a worthy successor to the Soviet Melodiya plants,
Andrey Krichevsky, CEO of the company

The first batch has already gone on sale and includes rare releases: David Tukhmanov's album "Po Volne Moyey Pamyati", a disc by the Latvian group Zodiac Disco Alliance, as well as a record by VIA "Dos-Mukasan". Special attention was drawn to the 1980s release — "Autogenic Training for People Who Abuse Alcohol", developed by doctors at the Yalta sanatorium.

All 2025 records are printed from original master tapes. The new Allegro II production line installed at the factory was manufactured in Hong Kong, and key equipment came from Sweden, Switzerland, Italy and China.

According to the company's CEO Andrey Krichevsky, the initial investment amounted to about 150 million rubles. The project is designed to produce up to 100 thousand records annually.
