Inclination angles of ROS and ISS coincided: Manturov spoke about the choice of orbit for the future space station

India is considering a similar inclination angle for its project

The authorities have approved the inclination angle of the future Russian Orbital Station (ROS), it will be 51.6°. The International Space Station (ISS) is located in the same orbit, said Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov.

According to him, India plans to place its space station in the same orbit.

In September 2025, the head of Roscosmos Dmitry Bakanov announced that the authorities would soon make a decision on the inclination of the ROS. After that, the construction of the first module of the station should begin.

The cost of the entire project will exceed 608 billion rubles. At the first stage of deployment in 2027, a scientific and energy module will be sent into Earth orbit. Over the next three years, Roscosmos will launch several more modules, which will become the core of the ROS.

In the future, the station will be expanded. At the same time, Russia plans to withdraw from the ISS project as early as 2028.
