A new service for measuring internet connection speed will be launched in the "Gosuslugi" application in December 2025. This was reported by the Izvestia newspaper, citing a source in the Ministry of Digital Development of Russia.
According to the publication, the system will operate on the basis of the domestic software "Megabitus", integrated into the state portal. This is the first such tool launched on one of the country's largest digital platforms.
The new service will allow users to measure Internet access speed and data transfer delay time (ping) directly from their smartphone. The results obtained can be used, in particular, to check the quality of the provider's services and record violations of the speed stated in the contract.
The MTS press service noted that the introduction of such a service is in the interests of the state, citizens and business. It is especially important to ensure the correctness and verifiability of the displayed data.
