A ceremony of awarding state awards of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan was held in Kazan. The ceremony was conducted by the Prime Minister of Tatarstan, Alexey Pesoshin.
During his speech, he noted that the Kazan Aviation Plant (KAZ, part of PJSC Tupolev, Rostec State Corporation) made a significant contribution to the region's economy. Now the company is preparing for the serial production of the Tu-214, according to "Kazan Vedomosti".
Aviation expert Roman Gusarov previously said that KAZ, due to its outdated material and technical base, is now unable to produce Tu-214 aircraft in the required volume. According to him, the company has too much manual labor, and technically the aircraft is inferior to more modern counterparts, such as the MS-21-310 and SJ-100.
State Duma deputy from Tatarstan Maxim Topilin holds a different opinion. He pointed out that KAZ could become an example of increased labor productivity in the future. The parliamentarian even named an exact figure — 10 times more efficient. However, Gusarov recalled that over the past three years, KAZ has not built a single new Tu-214.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that experimental work has not even begun for the PD-26 ghost aircraft engine.
