On October 27, 2025, the Government of the Russian Federation adopted Decree No. 1667, which introduces rules for centralized management of the public communication network. The document is posted on the website of official publication of legal acts.
The new rules will come into force on March 1, 2026, and will be valid until March 1, 2032.
The agency will have the right to change traffic routes, filter, block external channels, and even isolate RuNet from the rest of the world.
The document introduces detailed requirements for operator networks, including cases when traffic can or cannot be routed through technical means of countering threats.
Earlier www1.ru reported that since 2017, at the request of Roskomnadzor, about 400 thousand publications or Telegram channels have been removed.
