The Smolensk Aviation Plant has manufactured the first wing box for the new TVRS-44 Ladoga aircraft. This was reported by the Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA).
The order was completed as part of research and development work commissioned by UZGA. The box is the main structural part of the aircraft wing, representing a strong internal structure that withstands aerodynamic loads.
UZGA recalled that the TVRS-44 Ladoga turboprop aircraft is being developed for local airlines with 44 passenger seats, taking into account the specifics of operation in remote regions with harsh climatic conditions.
The plant is creating the "Ladoga" under the order of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia to replace the outdated fleet of Soviet small-sized aircraft An-24/26 and Yak-40. The aircraft will help improve the transport accessibility of settlements in the Far North, Siberia, and the Far East. The first prototype will be built by the end of 2025.
