Kazan Aviation Plant (KAZ, part of PJSC "Tupolev") will deliver only one Tu-214 out of the three planned in 2025. Inkazan reported on the problems the company is facing and why they cannot be solved overnight.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade last mentioned the Tu-214 back in September, talking about a forum for targeted students. In July, it was reported that the import-substituted aircraft was undergoing certification again, and it is unknown when it will be completed. Against the background of the successes of the MS-21 program, logical questions arise as to why the Tu-214 is not being built faster.
And there are several reasons: a shortage of personnel, a lack of production capacity, and the need to redesign the Tu-214.
Experts in the aviation industry have stated that in order to reach serious serial volumes, the production of the Tu-214 needs not just to be modernized, but actually redesigned. Only then can we talk about producing dozens of aircraft per year.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that a Rostec commission with Serdyukov and UAC visited the production of the PD-8 engine.
