Производитель МС-21 и Су-30СМ запустил два новых трёхкоординатных станка

Irkutsk Aviation Plant will start manufacturing spars and ribs for aircraft on new equipment

The Irkutsk Aviation Plant (IAP, part of the United Aircraft Corporation) has updated its machine park. Two modern high-performance milling centers have appeared in workshop No. 211, the company's press service reported.

The three-coordinate machines are designed for processing large-sized parts made of aluminum alloys. The maximum size of such parts can reach 5000×800 mm.

It is on these machines that the plant will begin to manufacture spars, ribs, beams and other large parts of the aircraft.

I am sure that we will receive the first test part quite soon. The machines came fully equipped, this CNC system is familiar to the employees of workshop 221, so there should be no problems with mastering the new equipment and its further operation.

The weight of each machine is more than 33 tons. In order to transport and install them in the workshop, a large-scale preparation was carried out. Now the construction and installation are fully completed, the machines are installed in their regular places.

The Irkutsk Aviation Plant builds MC-21 passenger aircraft, Su-30SM2 fighters and Yak-130 light attack aircraft.
