Engineers from the Military Training and Research Center of the Russian Navy "Naval Academy named after Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union N. G. Kuznetsov" have patented a new naval underwater weapon (MPW) "Duet." It is capable of "blinding" the anti-torpedo defense of an enemy submarine.
The key feature of the development is the creation of a multifunctional combat tool, called "Duet," combining in one body the qualities of a hydroacoustic countermeasure and an anti-submarine torpedo.
The package includes special devices for emitting targeted hydroacoustic interference and detecting hydroacoustic signals, borrowed from the composition of hydroacoustic countermeasures.
The naval underwater weapon "Duet" receives a fundamentally new quality - in the process of a torpedo attack, it is able to influence the acoustic receiving devices with emitted interference, both those included in the torpedoes (anti-torpedoes) of the enemy, and the subsystems for illuminating the near environment, located on ships, and thereby increase the combat stability of the submarine.
"Duet" is capable of detecting hydroacoustic signals from the homing systems of enemy torpedoes and anti-torpedoes, forming and emitting powerful targeted acoustic interference in the operating frequency band of 20-50 kHz.
Also, "Duet" ensures overcoming the enemy's anti-torpedo defense line, neutralizing anti-torpedoes and other hydroacoustic countermeasures.
Earlierwww1.ru reported thatthe new fiber-optic FPV drone "Zanoza" developed by the "Groza" project hits 80% of targets.
