The import-substituted twelve-cylinder diesel engine 12DM-185 manufactured by the "Sinara-Transport Machines" holding has passed factory tests as part of a 240-ton BELAZ mining dump truck. This was reported by the holding's press service.
Specialists from Sinara-Transport Machines and BELAZ worked on the modernization of the power unit as part of the import substitution program in mechanical engineering. Tests have confirmed that the engine surpasses foreign analogues in a number of technical parameters.
The 12DM-185 uses a domestic component base — more than 360 parts are produced in Russia and friendly countries. Belarusian manufacturers have mastered the production of piston rings, liners, piston pins and pneumatic starters.
Characteristics of the 12DM-185 diesel engine:
- Localization level — 99.78%
- Power — 1860 kW
- Service life — 25,000 hours before the first overhaul, 75,000 hours — before major repairs
- Fuel consumption at full power — 205.7 g/kW h
- Complies with the Stage III A environmental standard
After factory tests, the 12DM-185 will be sent to a quarry for testing in real conditions.
