The import-substituted twelve-cylinder diesel engine 12DM-185 manufactured by the "Sinara-Transport Machines" holding has passed factory tests as part of a 240-ton BELAZ mining dump truck. This was reported by the holding's press service.
Specialists from Sinara-Transport Machines and BELAZ worked on the modernization of the power unit as part of a program for import substitution in mechanical engineering. Tests have confirmed that the engine surpasses foreign analogues in a number of technical parameters.
The 12DM-185 uses a domestic component base - more than 360 parts are produced in Russia and friendly countries. Belarusian manufacturers have mastered the production of piston rings, liners, piston pins and pneumatic starters.
Characteristics of the 12DM-185 diesel engine:
- Localization level - 99.78%
- Power - 1860 kW
- Service life - 25,000 hours before the first overhaul, 75,000 hours - before a major overhaul
- Fuel consumption at full power - 205.7 g/kW h
- Complies with the Stage III A environmental standard
After factory tests, the 12DM-185 will be sent to a quarry for testing in real conditions.
