«Пиратство и незаконный захват»: техническую проверку конфискованного Ан-124 «Руслан» начали в Канаде

Canadian authorities have already stated that they want to seize the aircraft

Government officials in Canada have begun inspecting the technical condition of the An-124 aircraft, which was confiscated in 2022 from the Russian company Volga-Dnepr.

The aircraft, which has been parked at Pearson Airport in Toronto since 2022, was temporarily moved last week. Eyewitnesses confirmed this fact and also reported its subsequent return to its previous location. As explained at the airport, the reason for the move was the technical inspection of the aircraft by federal authorities that began last week. The inspection is expected to be completed on September 29.

Russian Ambassador to Canada Oleg Stepanov said that the Russian authorities will continue to seek the return of the An-124 aircraft to Volga-Dnepr after its confiscation, which Moscow considers piracy and illegal seizure. Canadian authorities have already stated that they want to seize the aircraft.

An-124 (Ruslan) is a heavy military transport aircraft of Soviet design. It is capable of transporting oversized and heavy cargo over long distances.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the modernized Yak-130M combat trainer will be presented at the Partner-2025 exhibition in Belgrade.
