СМИ: СК России вызывает на допрос граждан, удалённо оформлявших казахстанские банковские карты

Remote card issuance and mediation have become the subject of investigation

The Investigative Committee of Russia has begun summoning citizens who remotely applied for bank cards in Kazakhstan for questioning. This was reported by the Telegram channel "Caution, News".

According to the source, several people have received subpoenas since the beginning of September. It is assumed that this is related to cases against employees in Kazakhstan who helped to issue individual identification numbers (IIN).

Since 2023, Russians have been able to remotely obtain Kazakh bank cards through specialized services and Russian financial organizations. To apply, it was necessary to obtain an IIN and provide a photo of the passport with a copy of the application.

In February 2024, remote registration of IINs was prohibited in Kazakhstan, and later the conditions for issuing cards were tightened. At the same time, the possibility of obtaining numbers through intermediaries remained, which created new demand.

At the end of last year, many IINs issued after the ban were canceled. Now the police are contacting Russians who received IINs and cards, inviting them for questioning. Some are informed about initiated cases in Kazakhstan, but there is no official confirmation of this information yet.
