The domestic aircraft engine PD-8 for the "Superjet" SJ-100 meets the best global standards, stated Russian President Vladimir Putin.
He noted that both in Soviet times and today, Russia confidently ranks among the top five world leaders in the development of aircraft and rocket engines.
In the last four years alone, the number of delivered aircraft installations has increased by more than 50% — from 791 to 1227 units.
This year, the import substitution of engines on Ansat helicopters and Sukhoi Superjet aircraft has been completed. They are equipped with the latest VK-650V gas turbine engine and the PD-8 turbofan engine, respectively, which meet the best global standards.
The head of state emphasized that the positive dynamics in the industry create conditions for strengthening the country's technological and industrial sovereignty, updating transport and energy.
First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov stated that Russia is ready to supply aviation components for the wide-body aircraft being designed in China. This refers to the developments in the creation of the MS-21-310.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that ODK has found a way to reduce the weight of the PD-8 aircraft engine for SJ-100 and Be-200 aircraft.
