Мощные вспышки на Солнце не повлияют на работу ГЛОНАСС

The system will withstand solar flares thanks to the three-frequency system

Powerful solar flares will not significantly affect the operation of GLONASS and services using satellite navigation. This was stated by Mikhail Korablev, chief designer of JSC GLONASS.

The engineer noted that satellite signals are already transmitted at three frequencies, each of which performs a separate function: one amplifies the signal, the second increases the accuracy of positioning, and the third reduces the influence of interference. Thanks to this, solar flares and other activities do not have a serious impact on the system.

According to forecasts, a powerful magnetic storm will hit the Earth on September 1-2, which will last about a day.
