Car prices in Russia will no longer decrease in autumn and winter of 2025. The minimum cost level is observed right now — in the summer period. This was stated by Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency.
In the second half of the year, basic price levels are likely to remain, but the amount of discounts and the scale of sales will significantly decrease. In the summer, the maximum discounts were provided by the sale of last year's and the year before last's cars.
According to the expert, the remaining cars of 2023 on the market are almost exhausted. The stock of cars of 2024 is estimated at 100–150 thousand units, which is not enough for large-scale sales.
Tselikov added that the strengthening of the ruble became one of the factors in the growth of sales in the summer months. At the current exchange rate, it is profitable to import cars through parallel imports, and manufacturers can afford significant discounts. After conversion, revenue in yuan and other currencies remains high, which allows companies to flexibly adjust pricing policies without losses in foreign currency.
