"Yakovlev" Completes Ground Frequency Tests of Import-Substituted MC-21 Aircraft

The tests took place in the final assembly shop of the Irkutsk Aviation Plant

Specialists from PJSC "Yakovlev" (part of the United Aircraft Corporation) have completed ground frequency tests of the second import-substituted sample of the MC-21 medium-range aircraft. The tests took place in the final assembly shop of the Irkutsk Aviation Plant, the company said.

During the tests of the prototype aircraft, engineers checked the operation of the domestic power supply system, integrated control system, hydraulic system, radio-electronic equipment system, and chassis, created by a broad cooperation of Rostec enterprises.

Frequency tests are an important stage in the certification program, which guarantees the reliability of the aircraft and brings the fully import-substituted aircraft closer to its first flight.

The test program consists of two types of checks and includes tests of the integrated control system units and chassis units when oscillations are excited at various frequencies. The aircraft that has passed frequency tests is protected from the occurrence of dangerous resonant structural vibrations in flight.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that 14 SSJ-100 aircraft were found to have defects in the fuselage structure.
