Autonomous robots have begun to be used at Kazan International Airport named after Gabdulla Tukay for mowing lawns.
The devices operate in a fully automatic mode without the need for an operator. For navigation and obstacle avoidance, robots use an ultrasonic bypass system. The operation and monitoring of their work are carried out remotely through a special mobile application.
The equipment is equipped with sensors that respond to changes in weather conditions. When it starts to rain, the mowers independently stop working and return to the charging stations to recharge the batteries, where they wait for the precipitation to end.
The introduction of an automated lawn mowing system is part of the practice of using modern technologies for airport infrastructure maintenance.
