The Russian drone developer Valkyria Design Bureau has presented a universal drone for data transmission in electronic warfare (EW) environments.
This device was entirely developed by our engineers, both in terms of the airframe and the assembly of electronic components into a single network. This includes the wiring, weight distribution, and placement of elements in the location where data transmission is possible.
The new drone can be used for military purposes as an aerial reconnaissance vehicle, providing rapid transmission of high-quality information for subsequent analysis. The UAV is capable of staying airborne for up to 24 hours.
In a military sense, it is a scout that can transmit both streaming video and, depending on the installed equipment, a set of photographs, aerial photography in GeoTIFF format in real-time with the transmission of these photos online, for example, to a cloud server and subsequent processing using neural networks.
According to Russian expert in the field of unmanned systems Denis Fedutinov, the presence of a satellite communication system allows the drone to be used outside the line-of-sight radio range or where EW systems are in operation.
The drone has proven itself well in monitoring distributed infrastructure projects (pipelines, gas pipelines, and power lines). It can also be used to monitor the coastline and search for forest fires.
