Первый цифровой сервис D-ATIS для пилотов заработал в России

Pilots no longer listen to the weather – they read it

Russia has implemented a digital D-ATIS service that transmits up-to-date meteorological and aeronautical information to pilots in a convenient electronic format.

Previously, such data was transmitted via voice messages. Now, the crew receives updates on weather, runway conditions, and navigation aids almost instantly, even when far from the airfield.

Until 2022, the country used foreign "air-to-ground" data transmission systems. The creation and testing of D-ATIS were carried out jointly with Russian companies and equipment developers, which contributes to import substitution in aviation. Phased implementation of the service is planned throughout Russia.
