The Type Approval for the Tenet 3XT model has appeared in the open database of Rosstandart. The car will be assembled at the facilities of the former Volkswagen plant in Kaluga.
The Tenet 3XT is a compact crossover based on the Chinese Chery Tiggo 4. In Russia, the model will be offered with 1.5 and 1.6 liter engines.
Unlike the original Chery Tiggo 4, which is only available with front-wheel drive, the Tenet 3XT can be equipped with an all-wheel drive system. This is confirmed by spy shots taken in China, in which the 3XT prototype has an AWD (All-wheel drive) badge on the fifth door.
AGR Holding, which owns the former Volkswagen plant in Kaluga, announced that 200 pre-production bodies of Tenet cars have already been welded. This indicates readiness for the launch of mass production.
Earlierwww1.ru reported that Tenetis preparing to release a flagship model with Chinese roots - a crossover based on the Chery Tiggo 9.
