The Aeroflot Group expects to receive more than 100 new domestic MC-21 aircraft by 2030. However, such plans can be considered unrealistic, said Major General (Retired), Honored Military Pilot of the Russian Federation Vladimir Popov.
According to him, a lot of time has been lost since 2023, when the aircraft industry development program was being drawn up. The expert clarified that the aircraft with domestic PD-14 engines has not yet been certified.
It will be very difficult and time-consuming. Today it is unrealistic. Certification tests are not yet completed.
Popov added that many systems and parts of the MC-21 are being created virtually from scratch, so any forecasts should be treated with caution.
I'm not exaggerating, no, it's a fact, just real work. We had to create composites for the wing, all systems and components on our own technological base, and today we are lagging behind in mass production.
As part of mass production, 14 MC-21-310 aircraft were assembled at the enterprises of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec) assembled 14 MC-21-310 aircraft.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the import-substituted MC-21 aircraft successfully tested radio-electronic equipment.
