UEC to focus on increasing the flight hours of PD-8 and PD-14 engines for SJ-100 and MC-21

The corporation's work did not end with obtaining a type certificate for power plants

The United Engine Corporation (UEC, part of Rostec) has a lot of work ahead to improve and increase the flight hours of the created aircraft engines, according to UEC General Designer Yuri Shmotin.

According to him, there is a common misconception that the main work is completed after obtaining a type certificate and putting the engines into operation.

Then there is a colossal work on continuous support of flight hours and operation, on increasing the resource and many other aspects related to new aircraft engines.

Shmotin recalled that in the coming years, UEC will implement several significant projects — the Superjet aircraft with the PD-8 engine, the MC-21-310 with the PD-14, and the Il-114-300 with the TV7-117ST-01 power plant.

UEC also created a line of helicopter engines, including the VK-650V for the Ansata. This is the future of Russian aviation.
