During the construction of the new MC-21 passenger aircraft, specialists from the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec) used a large number of composite parts. This was announced by Anatoly Gaidansky, First Deputy Managing Director of PJSC \"Yakovlev\" — Director of the Engineering Center.

According to him, the wing, panels, and spars were primarily made of composites.

Also, all elements of wing mechanization, tail unit, fin-stabilizer, elevators, and a large number of fairings — flap tracks, wing-fuselage.

The MC-21 wing was created from domestically produced polymer composite materials. It was developed in a short time after the introduction of restrictions on the supply of foreign raw materials for the production of composites in 2018.
