Russian developer "Red Soft" and Chinese company Passion are preparing to release foldable smartphones.
The companies have already created a joint venture (JV) that will produce not only smartphones, but also laptops, tablets, and smart AR glasses. All devices will run on the "Red OS" and "Red OS M" operating systems.
The foldable smartphone will be equipped with a Mediatek processor from the end of 2024. This will be the first release of devices on "Red OS" to the consumer (b2c) market, as previous products were primarily aimed at corporate clients.
Currently, devices with "Red OS" are sold in the corporate sector — approximately 15–20 units per day, and since the start of sales, about 10,000 units have been sold, indicating stable demand.
The joint venture plans to localize production in Russia. The store with new devices is expected to open this summer in the "Afimall" shopping center in Moscow. The cost of foldable smartphones will be announced soon.
