Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant (UAZ) announced the construction of a new assembly line. It is designed for the production of modern SUVs and pickups.
The new workshop will increase car production to 10 thousand per year. The production of the Sollers ST9 pickup will first be established at the site, followed by an SUV under the same brand. All other cars (Sollers ST6, ST8 and UAZ cars) will continue to be produced at the previous site.
The creation of the new workshop was due to the technical features of the ST9 pickup. The car's frame is very different from its frame is very different from the frames of the ST6 and ST8 models.
UAZ has already introduced the ST9 pickup. As for the new SUV, it was only shown inside. The car will be equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission and a more powerful 2-liter gasoline engine. Partial unification of the interior is also expected.
