The new owners of the Russian company-developer of "World of Tanks" may face restricted access to the App Store and Google Play. This was reported by State Duma deputy Anton Gorelkin.
According to him, the reason may be the actions of Wargaming, which previously transferred the rights to the games to "Lesta." Due to the nationalization of the studio, it may revoke the license to use its developments.
In this situation, GC "Lesta" will lose the right to use the brand, but at the same time will be free from restrictions preventing it from entering foreign markets. This will allow Russian games to appear in China and India.
The Tagansky District Court of Moscow banned the activities of the company "Lesta" — the publisher of computer games "World of Tanks" and "World of Warships", and turned its assets into state revenue.
GC "Lesta" continues to operate. The St. Petersburg office on Kherson remains the property of "Lesta", plans for its use have not changed. Employees continue to work in their previous places. The company's management is preparing an appeal.
