In 2027-2028, a service may appear in Russia that allows passengers to use the Internet on domestic aircraft. This was announced by Dmitry Agafonov, Deputy General Director of Bureau 1440.
According to him, the deployment of a low-orbit satellite constellation will be completed by the specified period.
According to the current schedule, when we finish forming the group with a lag of six months, maybe a little longer, the service will be ready for use on board. We are talking now about Russian-made aircraft.
Agafonov noted that the demand for the Internet on airplanes has not subsided until now. According to surveys, 67% of passengers admit that the Internet on board is critical for them.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the hope of Russian aviation, Ansat, has demonstrated the ability to land in dense urban areas.
