The Central Research Institute for Precision Machine Engineering (JSC "TsNIITOCHMASH", part of the "Kalashnikov" concern) is preparing for the mass production of the unified RDG-U smoke grenade. This was reported by the press service of the concern.
The grenade is designed to mask military personnel, combat equipment and vehicles from enemy aimed fire. RDG-U has a number of advantages compared to analogues: it instantly creates a high-density masking screen, provides short-term protection against high-precision weapons in the IR range.
The patented technical solution implemented in the development of the RDG-U grenade ensures the simultaneous implementation of the smoldering and instantaneous principles of operation.
RDG-U characteristics:
- Weight with safety and starting mechanism - no more than 700 g
- Durable composite material body
- Safety during storage and transportation
- Operating temperature - from -50°С to +55°С.
