The tenth flight of the SJ-100 prototype aircraft with PD-8 engines, developed by the United Engine Corporation (part of Rostec), took place in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
During the flight, which lasted 3 hours and 20 minutes, the aircraft reached an altitude of 12,200 meters and a speed of Mach 0.81. The total operating time at this altitude was about two and a half hours. At maximum altitude, the pilots assessed the fuel efficiency of the cruise power plant.
At medium altitude, they checked the engine's operability at zero normal overload, reaching weightlessness mode in accordance with the test program.
According to the flight results, the PD-8 engines demonstrated stable operation in all tested modes. The power plant was tested as part of the aircraft for the first time at such altitudes, speeds, and overload.
Earlier www1.ru reported that UAC increased the capacity of SSJ-100 aircraft thanks to a new 100-seat layout.
