The State Corporation Rosatom has announced the launch of the development of a domestic microchip for controlling battery systems. 84 million rubles will be allocated for the development.
The microchip will provide control of the charging processes of automotive batteries and comply with the highest safety class ASIL D. The tender for the development of the microchip appeared on the official public procurement portal on April 7, 2025.
The microcircuit is designed to balance the charge of cells in lithium-ion batteries. Balancing the charge between the battery cells is carried out in order to prevent their damage during operation and increase the service life. The main application is energy storage systems, electric transport.
The device should function in two temperature modes: Industrial (from -40°C to +85°C) and Automotive (from -40°C to +125°C).
The microcircuit is planned to be created by 2027. The cost of a serial sample should not exceed 400 rubles when producing one million copies per year.
Earlier www1.ru reported that an expert criticized Russian microchips.
