The Russian video hosting service Rutube demonstrated impressive growth in 2024, increasing its audience by 65% and reaching 78.3 million monthly active users. Simultaneously, the online cinema Premier increased its base of paying subscribers by 25%, bringing it to 6 million people.
According to Alexander Zharov, CEO of Gazprom-Media Holding, the success of the project is due to two key factors. The first is the creation of in-demand content that attracts viewers. The second is the introduction of advanced technologies, including proprietary developments based on artificial intelligence. These technologies help optimize the production and distribution of media products.
Zharov also noted the multiple growth of the audience in both near and far abroad countries. The growing popularity of the services contributed to the development of the advertising business, which the holding considers as a promising area for further expansion.
Gazprom's media segment financial results for 2024 show revenue of 163.5 billion rubles with a slight loss of 247 million rubles. For comparison, data for the previous period were not disclosed.
