You Don't Say!?: A Booth That Intercepts Scammer Calls Has Appeared in Nizhny Novgorod

For every hour of communication with trained interlocutors, fraudsters lose more than 12 thousand rubles

A unique installation to combat telephone scammers, the "Scammer Trap," has started operating in the "Fantastika" shopping and entertainment complex in Nizhny Novgorod. From April 25 to May 25, anyone can personally communicate with a fraudster and learn how to resist their tricks. T-Bank opened the experimental service.

The "Scammer Trap" project is a special booth where participants can intercept a call from a real scammer. Before the game, everyone receives instructions on how to recognize the tricks of fraudsters and techniques for keeping them on the line.

This is not just a technological innovation, but an effective tool for training citizens to counter telephone scammers.
Egor Polyakov, Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region

The main task of the participants is to distract the scammers from their victims as long as possible. Calls from fraudsters are detected in real time and redirected to the booth. According to experts, every hour of such communication costs scammers more than 12 thousand rubles.

The tool helps to develop immunity to telephone fraud, and in the near future we plan to launch a fraud roulette for all bank clients.
Oleg Zamiralov, Head of the Ecosystem Protection Center of T-Bank

Fraud roulette is an innovative way to combat telephone scammers, where ordinary citizens become active participants in protecting against cybercrime. The project not only helps to neutralize fraudsters, but also gives people practical skills to counter their tricks.
