The construction of a road bridge between Russia and North Korea has started, according to Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
This is a truly significant stage for Russian-Korean relations. Its significance goes far beyond a simple engineering task. It symbolizes our common desire to strengthen friendly, good-neighborly relations and increase interregional cooperation.
The head of the Russian government noted that in 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un signed a treaty on a comprehensive strategic partnership. The agreement brought relations between the countries to a new level and created conditions for the implementation of mutually beneficial projects.
Of course, a key priority for us is the construction of a bridge crossing through which year-round road traffic will pass.
Currently, only a railway bridge and air service operate between Russia and North Korea. The length of the new road bridge will be 1 km (including access roads — 4.7 km), width — 7 meters. The length of the Russian side of the bridge will be 424 m, the Korean side — 581 m.
Estimated project implementation time Estimated construction time is 1.5 years. The bridge will be equipped with a checkpoint, it will pass through the Tumen River in the Primorsky Territory.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the construction of an interchange between Pulkovo Highway and the M-11 Neva highway continues in St. Petersburg.
