In connection with the preparation for the celebration of Victory Day in Moscow in April-May, traffic will be restricted in several districts of the city. The changes will affect the Central, Western and South-Eastern administrative districts, as well as a section of the Moscow Ring Road in the area of the Mozhaisk Highway.
The main dates when traffic will be restricted are: April 18, 19, 23, 29 and 30, as well as May 3, 4, 7 and 9. On these days, motorists will have to look for detour routes at the following addresses:
- Moscow Ring Road and Volgogradsky Prospekt — on April 18-19, traffic will be restricted on the outer side of the Moscow Ring Road from Minskoye to Novoryazanskoye Highway, including the section of the Novoryazanskoye Highway itself and Volgogradsky Prospekt to the Third Ring Road.
- Tverskaya Street — on April 23 from 21:00, the section from Mokhovaya to Tverskoy Boulevard and from Bolshaya Bronnaya to Bolshaya Sadovaya will be closed. It will also be impossible to drive along 1st Tverskaya-Yamskaya, Mokhovaya, Okhotny Ryad and Bolshaya Nikitskaya.
- City center — on April 29 and May 3 from 22:30, Serafimovicha streets, Bolshaya Polyanka, Novy Arbat, Vozdvizhenka, Mokhovaya, Sadovaya-Kudrinskaya, Bolshaya Sadovaya, Sadovaya-Triumfalnaya, Sadovaya-Karetnaya, 1st and 2nd Brestskaya will be closed. Restrictions will affect Novinsky Boulevard, Borovitskaya Square and both Stone Bridges.
- Sadovoye Ring — on April 29 and May 3 from 16:30 to 19:00, as well as on May 7 and 9 from 5:00 to 8:00, traffic will be closed on Zemlyanoy Val, Marksistskaya, Sadovaya-Chernogryazskaya, Sadovaya-Spasskaya, Sadovaya-Karetnaya, Bolshaya Sadovaya and Sadovaya-Kudrinskaya.
On May 9, from 5:30 until the end of the event, traffic will be completely blocked on the central streets: Tverskaya, 1st Tverskaya-Yamskaya, Mokhovaya, Bolshaya Nikitskaya, Bolotnaya, Sadovnicheskaya, Okhotny Ryad, Balchug, Solyanka and Petrovka. Traffic will also be restricted on the embankments.
Parking will be prohibited in all areas of closures from 00:01 on April 28 to 03:00 on May 4 and from 00:01 on May 8 to 13:00 on May 9.
Citizens are advised to plan routes in advance and, if possible, use public transport on the days of restrictions.
