Space historian Alexander Zheleznyakov said that Russia will be able to conquer Mars no earlier than in 20-30 years. According to Zheleznyakov, plans to explore the Red Planet are only beginning to take shape, and there are many tasks ahead.
Zheleznyakov noted that for the successful exploration of Mars, it is necessary to create new space technology, including rockets and spacecraft. Attention should also be paid to ensuring the safety of astronauts and protecting them from cosmic radiation. The specialist emphasized that this requires significant time and financial resources, so the implementation of such plans is a distant future.
Currently, the priority for Russia remains the implementation of the lunar program, and not the conquest of Mars.
Well, we have postponed our Moon until at least 2040.
Despite the distant deadlines, interest in space research is growing, and Russia is aimed at active participation in space exploration.
