On April 19, at 11:30 AM, a parade dedicated to the 126th anniversary of the Moscow tram will take place in Moscow. The trams will start their journey from Shabolovka Street and travel to the Danilovskaya Manufactory on Varshavskoe Highway and back. As part of the celebration, a large-scale exhibition of historical trams will be held, where you can see trams from different eras.
Tram parades have been held in Moscow since 2014 and are very popular with residents and tourists. For example, last year's festive events were attended by more than 500 thousand people. This year, we have also prepared an interesting program that the whole family can enjoy. We continue to develop the capital's tram and carefully preserve its history on behalf of Sergei Sobyanin.
The exhibition of retro cars will be held from 12:30 PM to 5:00 PM on the territory of the P.L. Apakov tram depot at 9 Shabolovka Street. Visitors will be able to see a collection of trams, from the first wooden models to modern ones that recently operated on the capital's routes.
A entertainment program has been prepared for guests, featuring artists from the "Music in the Metro" project, the academic choir of the Moscow Metro, and students from the Moscow Dancing Rebels dance school. There will also be free treats and prize draws. The celebration will conclude with a performance by Sergei Mazaev and the "Moral Code" band.
It should be noted that the Moscow tram is 126 years old and continues to actively develop. There are 35 tram routes in the capital, with about 730 thousand trips made on weekdays. Tram parades are a chance to learn more about the technology that was used in the past.
