AvtoVAZ celebrated 55 years since the opening of the factory paint coatings laboratory.
On April 11, 1970, the factory paint coatings laboratory began preparing for the first trial painting of black body parts and its frame components. Tests of the final body painting chambers began. In workshop 44 of the pilot production, painters Moskvin, Grunskaya, and Napolskikh primed and painted a signal frame and components of the first "Zhiguli" car body in two layers of synthetic white enamel.
Historical photographs of the preparation for the creation of the first AvtoVAZ model were also shown. This marked the beginning of paint production, which remains one of the most interesting and technologically advanced processes.
AvtoVAZ continues its work and is preparing to release a new model — Lada Iskra.
