Корональные дыры распались, солнечный ветер стабилен: магнитосфера Земли будет в норме ближайшие 10 дней

Scientists expect a calm period of space weather

According to the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of IKI and ISZF, the period of geomagnetic influence of large coronal holes on the Sun, which have repeatedly affected the Earth since January 2025, has ended.

These areas with reduced temperature and plasma density, rotating with the Sun, returned to the interaction zone with our planet every 27 days, causing prolonged disturbances in the magnetosphere. However, by the beginning of April, the last fragments of the holes had disintegrated, which improved the space weather forecast for the next 10 days.

Currently, the dominant factor remains the solar wind, the parameters of which are within the normal range. Flare activity is reduced: only weak class C flares and isolated class M flares are observed. Large spots have been discovered on the eastern edge of the solar disk, associated with powerful coronal mass ejections on the far side of the Sun a week ago. However, according to scientists, the energy in this zone has already been exhausted, and it poses no threat to Earth.
