Electric Boat Production Planned in Khabarovsk Krai

Khabarovsk Krai Governor Dmitry Demeshin announced plans to launch the production of electric river vessels in the region

Shipbuilders in Khabarovsk Krai intend to launch the production of environmentally friendly river vessels - electric boats. This was announced by the head of the Khabarovsk Krai, Dmitry Demeshin.

Such vessels have been operating in the capital's water area year-round since 2023.

An electric boat is a vessel that operates on electric motors with its own power source (generators, batteries) or an external contact network.

Regional Head Dmitry Demeshin said that there is currently a growing demand for civilian vessels, barges, and hydrofoil boats, as they are needed in the logistics sector. There is also demand for electric-powered ships, which are still rare in the Far East but can already be seen on the Moscow River.

Demeshin also notes that there are plans to create a separate electric boat production facility. Then they can also be ridden on the Amur River.
